                   Administrative and Organizational Development

Hosted Winner 2nd Annual Winner Oskate March 27-29

  • Exec Dir. Offered Love and Logic staff training at Todd County School Dorms
  • Exec. Director was voted on the Board of Directors for the Winner Chamber of Commerce
  • Completed Co- morbidity plan systems change initiative
  • Hosted change agent site visit with consultants on Co- morbidity systems change initiative
  • Hired Program Manager
  • Secured new CPA contract for fiscal management
  • Completed year 1 ANA grant
  • Completed year 1 Bush grant
  • Collaborated with University of Colorado in Research Project
  • Partnership with RST tribal Council rep and Office depot to provide school bags and school supplies for 4 communities
  • Established partnerships and received donations from groups in England
  • Honored outgoing Board members
  • NAAP staff volunteered at major Winner City and Tripp County centennial events , concessions for bullorama, concert concessions
  • Staff and Board of Directors reviewed and updated organizational values and 5 year plan
  • Contracted with Factor 360, new web design company

                                                            Prevention

  • Secured grant through Administration for Native Americans (ANA) for equine and cultural camp programming for youth
  • First Boys Fall Leadership camp held at Wicoti Tiwahe November 28-30, 2008#16 participated ages 12 to 18 years old.
  • October 28-November 1st Search Institute training for Prevention
  • 198 prevention 9 group sites held with the total of 3502 participants
  • Acquired horse shed
  •  Exec. Director and Program Manager Presented at National Prevention Conference, Indianapolis, In.
  • Exec. Director and Program Manager attended post award training for Administration for Native American grant in Phoenix Arizona
  • Youth recorded PSA’s for Tobacco Prevention Coalition
  • Hosted 2 volunteer church groups that assisted with construction of wooden fencing around youth camp
  • Planted “living fence” around camp site
  • Built outdoor shower facility at camp site
  • Completed landscaping projects at camp
  • Recruited new volunteers
  • Boo fest in Antelope and White River and St Francis,  and youth Halloween party in Milks camp
  • 3 three additional horses acquired for horse program from Arizona
  • Harvest camp for youth ages 12-19
  • Youth Quarry trip
  • Purchased 2 vehicles, ATV, Loader
  • Purchased round corral
  • Started new partnership with Tree of Life Ministries
  • Hired cultural activities specialist
  • Contracted with new tobacco coalition facilitator
  • Staff participated in quilling training
  • 78 acupuncture treatments given by certified staff
  • Secured grant for SD Game Fish and parks for Hunt safe equipment, books and targets for camps

Independent Living

  • Started new partnership with tree of Life Ministries
  • IL staff participated in State CIL training May, 2009
  • IL staff attended in IL video Conference training in Mitchell
  • Exec. Director attended State -CIL financial workgroup meetings
  • Hosted Winner Labor day week end Native American Day festivities  including free buffalo feed to public , dance demonstrations, equine demonstrations and public awareness booth
  • Completed Federal Home Loan Bank project
  • Increase services in Eagle Butte and Sisseton
  • Hired new ILS
  • IL policies and procedures reviewed updated
  • QA procedures developed and initiated
  • Hired equine specialist
  • 39 consumers serviced with assistive devices
  • Completed corrective action plan for Division or Rehabilitation

Fundraising

  • Fundraising rummage sale June
  • Participated in12 Art market sales events .Thursday June-August
  • Lunch sale at art market
  • Saddle sale on Friday & Saturday June –August
  • Staff participated in 2 fundraising training via webcast, January 2009
  • Raised $1500 net proceeds from summer fundraising efforts
